My three year old hates the hole in his underwear.

And short of sitting down and sewing all those holes shut, I don't know what to do.

You see, Thaddeus still sits down to pee (does any three year old actually stand???) so he has no idea what that hole is really for.  We've tried to explain it, but he doesn't care or doesn't get it...who knows.

Now let me clarify, it's not like he refuses to wear undies, but if he notices the hole during the day he will insist that his underwear need fixed and that he can't wear them because there is a hole...which leads to new underwear...which leads to unnecessary laundry.  And?  I'm not so cool with that.

So, the big question I waste an hour or so stitching these bad boys closed by hand some night or do I just brush it off and let him grow out of this phase?

  1. Hilarious! My son stands up to pee (sometimes) but pulls down his pants and undies so the hole is pointless! He is soooooooooooo picky about clothes (no socks EVER) so I'm surprised he doesn't mind the hole!

  2. I'd sew them closed with a basting stitch on the sewing machine. That way you can pull the stitch out easily if he changes his mind. Although, he'll probably outgrow the underwear before that happens.

Thanks for the comment love!
